The Do-Deca Penthalon (2012)
Directors: Jay Duplass and Mark Duplass
Starring: Mark Kelly, Steve Zissis and Jennifer Lafleur
Plot: “Two brothers compete in their own private 25-event Olympics.”
Review: It’s strange to say this but this film maybe be the Duplass Brothers most action packed film. Don’t let that push you away from this one though, it’s still shot as a traditional Duplass film. Do-Deca uses some unknown actors to tell this story about two brothers competing to see who is the better brother. The acting was really good in this. The improvisation was done really well. There is a fair balance of drama and comedy. I actually enjoyed the child actor in this too. I’ve always admired their shooting style so every shot was nice to me. Sadly, I gotta say it’s not as strong as Jeff, Who Lives at Home that came out earlier this year. Still a worthy Duplass Brother entry.
Rating: 7.5/10
